Miranda has experience with a range of communication difficulties as well as with individuals of all ages.

She is currently working for Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) in Speech, Language, and Communication Services. Previously, she was an SLP on the Autism & Neurodevelopmental Services Team (A&NDS), supporting students who require Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). What is AAC?
She has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families online, through providing the More Than Words® program via Telepractice (as an independent contractor with The Hanen Centre).
Miranda has past experience working in the preschool sector, school boards, home healthcare, and in the adult sector with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has experience providing assessment and treatment services for adults and children with articulation, stuttering, language, cognition, intellectual disabilities, and swallowing difficulties. She has experience working with individuals who are non-verbal or who have limited communication abilities and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She has attended trainings specific to facilitating communication skills in children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has experience completing bedside/chairside eating and swallowing assessments and training support workers and caregivers on the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) Dyspagia Diet guidelines. She strives to work closely with all members of an individual's team of care providers, such as parents and caregivers, other Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Behaviour Analysts (BAs), Teachers, Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), Educational Assistants (EAs), Physicians, etc.
Miranda regularly works to continue her education, expand her experiences, skills, and training, and, most of all, the learning opportunities she gains from each and every client she gets to work with.
